POSITIVE THINGS:
• The streets are clean.
• Low crime rate.
• Low rent and housing costs comparing to the rest of the Canada.
• Fine dining includes: French cuisine, Smoked Meat and the ever popular junk food – Poutine! (French fries topped with cheese and brown gravy).
• Great annual summer festivals: Jazz, Just for Laughs, Film, the Grand Prix and the International Fireworks Competition.
• Great night life: Bars close at 3:00 A.M.
• And the women are SOOOO fine!

NEGATIVE THINGS:
• Language battles (English/French).
• Biker wars.
• Legal drinking age is 18.
• Uncivilized drivers and pedestrians with absolutely no respect what so ever for traffic regulations. And they are only the sober ones!

FACTS:
• The weather is the most common subject in Montrealer’s daily conversation.
• Montreal is the only city in North America (2nd to New York City) where the cars are not allowed to turn right on the red traffic light.
• Montreal is the largest French speaking city in the world 2nd to Paris, France.
• Montreal has the largest Lebanese community in Canada.
• As of May 31, 2006, indoor smoking is banned in public places for the entire province of Quebec.
• The English version of the children’s popular “Furby” toy is restricted by law to ship to Quebec if purchased on line.
